The Elms School

"The vision for the school, clearly stated by the headmaster as a place where traditional values are upheld and all are cared for, is rigorously implemented by staff."  Independent Schools Inspectorate Report, 2005.

The Elms, founded by Humphry Walwyn in 1614, is situated in truly beautiful countryside in the Malvern foothills. It is the oldest prep school in the country that remains on its original site.

Academically, The Elms achieves outstanding results, though the main emphasis is one of a happy balanced family, based on Christian values within a safe and secure structure.

The Elms aims to foster an enthusiasm for life, to develop self-confidence and good manners, to enhance the talents of the individual and to generate an appreciation of others and our environment. Above all, the school values individual effort.

School fees each term range from the nursery class (£2,240) to full boarders in the main school (£6,290). Closed scholarships are specifically available for children of the clergy and armed forces, whilst specific awards are provided for children living in Herefordshire and surrounding counties.
